Three heroic teen boys rescue young children from burning church

By: Ga-Young Oh
Last night, five young children were saved by three heroes when the church on top of Windrixville, located on top of Jay Mountains, caught on fire. This happened when an elementary school had a picnic near the abandoned church and the church suddenly went on fire. Without hesitation, two of the boys, Ponyboy Curtis, 14 and Johnny Cade, 16 rushed into the burning church, risking their lives.
We asked Curtis what happened and he said that he and his friends were driving by the church, after having lunch at Dairy Queen, when he saw people screaming and smoke coming out of a church. Curtis ran towards the church after hearing that some of the kids were missing.
Cade directly followed Curtis into the church. Cade and Curtis took each child out through a small window. When all of the kids were saved, the roof caved in while Cade was still left in the church. Curtis’ arm was on fire and that’s when one of the other heroes, Dallas Winston, 17 came to help.
Winston dragged Curtis out through the window and started hitting his arm since it was on fire. Then, there was a loud scream from the church and Winston jumped into the church to get Cade out of the building.
Luckily, all of the children were saved by the time the church was totally burned down. Curtis, Cade and Winston were taken to the hospital. Curtis was released after a few hours and Winston has a badly burned arm. However, Cade is in a critical condition. He has a burned back from when the roof caved in and he is paralyzed.
Jerry Wood, one of the teachers, witnessed the scene and said, “I swear, you three are the bravest kids I’ve seen in a long time. I think you were sent straight from heaven.”
Some other teachers said that they were “professional heroes” and “absolute angels.”

It was scheduled to have an interview with Curtis about anything he saw and what made him and his  friends save the children when no other teachers risked their lives to save the terrified children.
No evidence was left since everything was completely burned. Further information will come soon as we investigate.
